Release Tour & Review ~ Blue (A Savages in Ruin Novel) by Jane Anthony

Title: Blue
Series: A Savages in Ruin Novel
Author: Jane Anthony
Genre: Rockstar Romance
Release Date: April 5, 2019
They say a single moment can change the course of your life.
Mine wasn’t a moment, but a man.
We were wrong for each other in every way, yet it didn’t stop me from wanting him. The broody, arrogant rock star on the verge of self-destruction. His touch was electric, his wounded gaze burning me from the inside out.

He was perfectly imperfect.

Irresistibly tortured.

Utterly broken. Almost as broken as me.

Our jagged edges aligned so seamlessly even I believed we might have healed each other.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS

Blue is the first novel that I’ve had the pleasure of reading from Jane Anthony. I felt that the book was written like a piece of music. With the main characters, Wyatt Blue and Willow as the harmony and melody where they come together to make a hauntingly beautiful song. Their song will stay with you long after it’s done!

Wyatt and Willow’s journey is so emotional and tortured, with their pain so openly raw. Individually they are broken but together they strengthen and heal one another, and despite this they somehow complete the parts that are missing in themselves and make them whole.

“You told me once that two souls don’t find each other by simple accident. That we were meant to meet. I believe that now. Our life is a blanket, knotted together, piece by piece, your crazy and my crazy laid out in intricate patterns that scatter over it like new snow.”

This story is an EPIC read, truly mind blowing! There are twists in this book that are so unexpected. I guarantee you will enjoy every moment! I will leave you with one last quote that I absolutely loved.

“Love is bigger than anything we’ve got. It’s stronger than any ailment, more infections than any disease. When it’s real, it can get you through anything. And that, my friend, is what makes life worth living.”

Blue is the first book in the Savages in Ruin series and can be read as a standalone. Thank you to the author and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for kindly providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Blue (Savages in Ruin, Book 1) by Jane Anthony will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

ALWAYS, A Legacy Novel (Cross + Catherine, #1)

by Bethany-Kris

Catherine giggled. Her amusement faded fast. Like the second Hugh grabbed her arm in a tight grip, and stopped her from walking further.

“Last name?” he asked again.

She tugged her arm to free it from his grasp, but he didn’t let go. She looked down at his hand pointedly. “That’s a no.”

“Shit, what’s your problem? I’m just asking who the hell—”

“Let me go,” Catherine said.

She was polite.

It was the only warning he was going to get.

“Tell me your name, then.”

“This isn’t a tit for tat,” Catherine replied. “I said no, and that means—”

Catherine didn’t even see the fist coming before it smashed into Hugh’s face. Hugh let go of Catherine’s arm with a holler, and she almost tripped over her gladiator-style sandals in an effort to jump back.

“Means fucking no,” the guy Catherine had been admiring earlier said, as he stood over a now bleeding Hugh. “Coach said to move your ass, so move, Hugh. Stop bothering girls—didn’t you get enough of that shit last year?”

“Donati!” someone yelled from the field.

“Jesus Christ, Cross,” Liliana muttered.

“Prick!”

That was all Hugh got out before he kicked out a leg and dropped Cross to the ground. In full football gear, but for the helmets, the two boys started laying into one another. Each fist smacking into a body or gear made Catherine cringe. She was pretty sure someone was bleeding, too, in between cursing and name calling. The players and coaches on the field started heading their way fast.

“Okay, time to go,” Liliana said, making sure to tug Catherine along.

She kept up with her cousin easily enough.

First day, and already starting fights.

Yeah, she really missed her old school.

“Donati did you a favor there,” Liliana said as they came closer to the school.

“Who?” Catherine asked, peering back over her shoulder.

“Donati. Cross Donati.”

That surname seemed familiar to Catherine, but she couldn’t quite pull out why.

“Hugh is a creep,” Liliana said, oblivious to Catherine’s confusion. “He doesn’t understand the word no, and if you ask the right girls, they’ll all tell you not to leave a drink unattended when he’s around. Seriously, Cross did you a favor.”

She couldn’t help but look back over her shoulder.

Catherine found a pair of dark eyes looking in her direction before they locked onto hers.

Cross.

Cross Donati.

His fist crashed down into Hugh’s bloody face one more time before the coach reached the fighting boys, and pulled them apart. He was still staring after Catherine, though.

Cross smiled at her, then, showing off white teeth stained red by his bloody mouth. He didn’t seem a bit bothered by it, really. She smiled back.

Catherine thought, years from then, when people asked …

She would say that was when she fell in love with Cross.

Black hair.

Dark eyes.

Bruised knuckles.

Bloody mouth.

All the while, he smiled at her.

And she smiled back.

That was when she fell in love with Cross Donati.

Even if she hadn’t known it then.

REVERE, A Legacy Novel (Cross + Catherine, #2)

by Bethany-Kris

“You didn’t answer me. How have you been, babe?”

“I’ve been okay,” she replied.

Cross smiled, but he thought maybe she was only saying that for his benefit. “Still running for your cousin?”

“Maybe.”

Catherine had always been good at three things: loving him, hustling drugs, and lying. Cross doubted much of that changed.

“Sure you are. Why else would you be here?”

Catherine waved at her plate. “Delicious food.”

“Mmhmm.”

Before he could think better of it, Cross reached across the table and grabbed Catherine’s hand. The dozens of bangles on her wrist jingled against the tabletop. He found her skin was still soft, warm, and all his. He squeezed her hand and ran the pad of his thumb across her knuckles. Her fingers trembled just a second before she tugged her hand away.

“Don’t do that, Cross,” Catherine said.

She didn’t want him to see the way she hid her hands from his sight. It was too late; he couldn’t possibly miss it. Only once in their long relationship had Cross truly missed something Catherine wanted to hide from him, and it had been their ruin.

He was never going to make that mistake again.

“Still as stubborn as ever, I see.”

“You liked it,” she retorted, unable to stop her grin.

“I might still.”

Catherine’s eyes widened. “Excuse me?”

“What are you doing this weekend?”

No.

Stupid.

Bad.

He was going to get his ass shot.

He had been warned.

Cross didn’t drop his gaze, or move an inch.

Uh …”

“Go out with me,” he said.

Catherine didn’t blink. “Um.”

“Come on, Catty, you always had a quick response for everything I or anyone else ever said. Don’t disappoint me now.”

“Cross—”

“Catherine, hey.” A man wearing a chef’s jacket that Cross didn’t recognize—and didn’t fucking care to—strolled up to their table. He wore a cocked eyebrow and an irritating smile. Cross considered stabbing the man with the knife on the table just because he interrupted. That shit was rude. “Andino was asking if you were still here. He wants you to head back to the office for a few.”

Catherine blinked up at the man, clearly recognizing him. Cross certainly didn’t like the way the man looked at Catherine like the two were … familiar.

Were they?

He didn’t know.

Cross would bet the man certainly wouldn’t want to know what he would do to him if he did know.

“Who is this, Catherine?” the guy asked. “You haven’t mentioned having a friend.”

Cross didn’t miss the man’s resentment in his words. Definitely something there, he thought. He met the man’s gaze for a brief second, and then dropped it just as fast. Whoever the fuck he was, the guy wasn’t important to Cross.

At all.

“Thanks for letting me know about Andino, Jamie.” Catherine let out a sigh, and stood from the table leaving her unfinished plate and Cross behind. “Cross, it was nice seeing you.”

Cross smiled and murmured, “Likewise, Catherine.”

She stiffened a bit. Something that looked a hell of a lot like memories flashed in her eyes. Then, she was gone.

Jamie, the irritating chef, stayed behind. “Can I help you?”

“Sure,” Cross said with a flick of his wrist, “by fucking off somewhere.”

“Excuse—”

“I said what I said, so go.”

“I don’t know who the fuck you are, but—”

“Andino does, so run back and let him know I’m here.”

“And who are you exactly?”

“Cross Donati.” He looked up at Jamie and smirked. “Or you might know me as the reason you couldn’t keep Catherine interested long enough to get anywhere good.”

Jamie’s face whitened.

Cross flicked his wrist again. “Now do as I said, and fuck off somewhere.”

The man fucked off.

UNRULY, A Legacy Novel (Cross + Catherine, #3)

by Bethany-Kris

Parents fell in two categories where their marriage and sex life was concerned. They either learned to get creative and make time, or they dried up like an old well.

Given how busy their life was, Catherine had been terrified her and Cross would fall into the latter category after Cece’s birth. Clearly, the two of them were a lucky pair.

That, and they liked sex.

A lot.

Catherine’s fingers curved around the edge of the kitchen counter, while her body arched into the delicious sensation of Cross’s lips teasing at the column of her throat. Lower, she thought she heard herself say. Lower, lower, lower.

It was hard to tell.

They also learned to be quiet.

Cece wasn’t exactly a light sleeper, but still. She also tended to sleep in their damn bed, or she would just make her way there come morning.

Whether or not Catherine actually said the words didn’t seem to make much of a difference to her husband. He knew what she wanted. He always knew what she needed. He was the musician between the two of them, after all. She didn’t mind being another one of his instruments to play.

Especially not when he played her right.

Dark eyes flicked up to meet hers. His tongue traced a circle around her navel. He bared his teeth like the goddamn tease he was when he grinned.

Catherine let out a breath through her nose while she abused her lower lip with her teeth. What else could she do? At this point, it was Cross’s game. She was collateral damage.

It would still be all kinds of fun.

“Here?” he asked.

“You know damn well—”

Lower he went, kissing a spot over her pubic bone. “Here, babe?”

Cross.”

Goddamn, she sounded whiney.

Well, she was.

Very.

Cross’s husky chuckles washed over her senses like a tidal wave of lust and want. He knew exactly what he was doing to her, and planned on continuing for as long as he could. Catherine had two problems with that.

One, they didn’t have time.

Soon, little feet would be pattering down the stairs.

Two, she didn’t have the patience.

Catherine knew exactly what would get Cross moving and out of his little teasing kick. She had been holding the info in her back pocket for a couple of weeks while they dealt with getting their home ready for Christmas.

What you can expect from Heath:
It’s hot!
It’s sexy!
It’s emotional!
It’s full of angst!
It’s a love story unlike anything you’ve read!
A modern telling of a classic tale…
This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.
“Who do you love?” I ask, my lips delicately brushing over hers. “A madman,” she teases.
If God had a plan, it didn’t include us. Nothing this fiery—this intense—could come from the heavens. The flames that continually burn through us are straight from the bowels of hell. A devil and his queen.
The powers she has over me are unexplainable. Otherworldly. An intensity that doesn’t die out with this lifetime, but will drag me into the next because we are linked in a way that transcends everything.

SYNOPSIS

High school freshman Roman Santi has everything — good looks, great friends, a mansion with an infinity swimming pool — except the one thing he really wants. A relationship with his father.

When Roman’s life gets turned upside down, (thanks, Mom!?), he is forced to leave his pampered Hollywood lifestyle and move into his grandparents’ Midwestern home. Sleeping on a lumpy pullout sofa and starting at a new high school is the worst, but Roman’s life starts to look up when his pink-haired friend, Zuzu, and his crush, a classmate named Claire, introduce him to performance poetry through the high school’s Spoken Word Club. While his mom is flying back and forth to L.A., trying to return them to the life they had, Roman becomes part of a diverse group of characters who challenge his rather privileged view of the world. Through Spoken Word, Roman recognizes the hole in his own life he needs to fill and discovers his voice. Spoken Word leads Roman on a journey of new friendships, first love, and finding the dad he never knew.

“Spoken” is an uplifting, funny, and heartfelt coming-of-age story that captures how the honesty of performance poetry binds together students from all different walks of life and forever changes Roman’s life.

EXCLUSIVE REVEAL EXCERPT

I crash onto the brown leather sofa in the family room, even though I’m all sweaty from playing an hour of basketball with Sebastian. I jam a mound of Chunky Monkey into my mouth straight from the container. Those are two things I’m not supposed to do in my house.

Technically, this is Kirk’s house, but my mom and I have lived here for four years, so, basically, it’s my house, too. I’m watching, for the umpteenth time, Catch Me if You Can, which is one of Kirk’s favorite movies. I figure that cancels out the other stuff I shouldn’t be doing.

Rather than more hanging out, I know I need to deal with The Iliad, which Mrs. Lee assigned us last week in English. But if there ever was a quick fix for wanting to read, this 750-page epic Greek poem written a thousand years ago would do the trick. I mean, maybe in college you have to read a book like that. In ninth grade, it’s just a sadistic teacher move. I’ll look at the SparkNotes later on, which is probably what every single kid in the class will be doing.

I commit to the seventy-inch screen and burrow my whole body into the cushy sofa. I love this part, where a teenage con artist, played by Leo DiCaprio, starts to write his name on the chalkboard, introducing himself as the substitute teacher, even though he is really another student in the class.

Just as I’m comfortably comatose, I hear tires screech into the driveway. As I look out the window, Kirk jumps from his silver Mercedes sedan and rushes toward the house. Now this is weird, because Kirk is never home before dinner on a weekday, especially when he’s directing a movie, like he is now, on the Universal backlot.

I slide down lower on the couch, but he doesn’t even glance my way. I watch as Kirk, his face flushed red, charges through the marble foyer and up the stairs toward the master bedroom suite. His hefty frame makes a loud thud on each step as he climbs.

I grab another full spoon of ice cream and return my attention to Leo, but then I hear the yelling.

“This is shameful, Steph!” Kirk screams at my mom.

The bedroom door slams shut. Now it’s just muffled voices as they continue to argue. I drop the full spoon back into the sweating carton, not hungry anymore. This is ratcheted up way past their usual fighting.

I turn the volume up on the TV, hoping that will help me focus on what’s in front of me instead of what’s going on upstairs.

Then I see a few big drips of ice cream on the dark cushion between my legs.

“Shit!” I say to myself as I lean forward to mop up the mess with my T-shirt. My smearing has the wrong result. The white, sticky stain takes on a life of its own.

I don’t need Kirk to see this and be pissed at me today, too. Mom’s got him worked up enough about something.

I shift my thigh so it’s covering the evidence. I’ll deal with it later.

Turning my head to look up at the stairs, I wonder what annoying thing Mom did now. I’m caught off guard as I see her whip down the stairs, calling frantically from the hallway, “Roman, where are you?” Seeing me on the sofa, she rushes into the room. As she grabs my hand, my left thigh sharply separates from the sofa, and she pulls me up to my feet.

“We’re leaving here. We have to go now.”

Mom sniffles big. Her eyes are wet and red. She’s wearing white shorts and a black tank top with the word PINK spelled out in pink rhinestones. Her dark hair is shoved into a messy ponytail. This is not how my mom would ever leave the house. Something bad happened.

“Pack some clothes,” she says softly. “And your toothbrush.”

Dazed, I stand my ground until she grabs my arm and marches me through the sparkling kitchen, with its white-marble countertops and two of everything—two fridges, two ovens, and even two dishwashers. Sunlight pours in through the many windows. I’m hurried past the kitchen island, with its four red-leather barstools. I’ve spent countless hours here, sitting on my butt and eating, doing homework, or just hanging out.

I’m not giving up all this awesomeness, am I?

Excerpt

From My Best Friend’s Honeymoon by Grahame Claire

“What do you mean you aren’t going to make the flight?”

The man across the narrow aisle of the plane stared wide-eyed at my raised voice even as the woman next to him chattered away. I pressed the phone to my ear and angled away from him as Roxy continued to make excuses.

“Mr. Bubbles escaped. I’d think you’d be more concerned.” Seriously? Roxy was giving me a guilt trip?

“That cat only moves to eat, so don’t tell me that the lazy thing actually ventured out of your house.” I gripped the phone so tightly in my hand, pain shot through my joints.

“Also, somebody pulled the fire alarm at the library.” Considering it was eight in the morning on a Sunday and we didn’t open the library until one, I highly doubted it.

“This isn’t fifty excuses to give your best friend for leaving her alone on your honeymoon.” The lady in front of me whipped around and flashed a scathing look. I smiled apologetically and lowered my voice. “If you aren’t on this plane by the time it takes off—”

“Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts. Flight crew, secure the door.”

“As soon as I can get another flight, I’ll be right behind you,” Roxy promised.

“I can’t believe you overslept.” She was perpetually late to everything. Why I was surprised she missed the flight, especially after what went down at her wedding yesterday, I didn’t know.

“Um…well…actually, I didn’t.”

“Don’t throw Mr. Bubbles under the bus again.”

“Fine. I was up all night doing unspeakable things to Marco,” she said in a rush.

“The best man?!” I squeaked.

“Miss, please put away your phone,” a passing flight attendant said in a polite but don’t-cross-me kind of way.

I nodded and gave her a tight smile. As soon as she moved on, I pinned the phone to my face as Roxy tried to explain herself.

“I got left at the altar. I deserved to have some fun.”

🌴 ✈️ REVIEW ✈️ 🌴

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 STARS

Runaways is Rachel Sawden’s debut novel. I found that the author did an amazing job of taking the reader on enlightening excursions through Harper Rodrigues and her two best friends road to self discovery while traveling.

Harper likes to be in control and plan all facets of her life. She sets aside her dreams after her sister’s unexpected death for the stable and steady life that she thinks she needs to live.

“Fail to plan, plan to fail” became my new mantra to handle the ebb and flow of my emotions.”

After some unfortunate events early in the novel, Harper reaches a crossroads in her life where all her plans will have to change. She decides to embark on the trip with her best friends using her life savings and chase her dreams of traveling the world and taking amazing photographs.

This book is takes you on an adventure and you experience it along with Harper, Lana and Jade, as well as all the various people they meet on their travels. I found this to be a very enjoyable read and recommend this book. Thank you to the author and Indie Sage PR for generously providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. SYNOPSIS

Harper Rodrigues’ five-year plan was on track. She’d worked hard to secure her graduate marketing job, her boyfriend Adam was set to propose any day, and she was learning to process the death of her sister. She’d been through some dark times, but there was light at the end of the tunnel.

At least, that’s how it had seemed until the day she was fired in the morning and dumped by nightfall.
Now, with her life plans in ruins, Harper turns to her best friends who are going on the trip of a lifetime – five-months traveling across Asia and Oceania. Determined to see the silver lining in her unraveled plans, she decides to book a plane ticket to join them and resurrect her dreams of becoming a travel photographer.

But Harper’s travels aren’t all sunshine and cocktails. With Adam begging for her forgiveness and proposing on the eve of her departure, Harper knows she must be on her best behavior. But when she meets Xavier, an enigmatic poet on the beaches of Goa, that may just be easier said than done.

Runaways is the empowering and racy tale of one woman’s voyage of self-discovery. A must-read for fans of travelogues and romance alike.

Book Blurb:

Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.

Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position.

But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley steps up to help.

The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.

Love and commitment are predictable.

So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?

Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.

His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.

What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.

He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.

Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.

She makes him want to be reckless.

Fleeting

(The Nash Brothers, Book 1)

By: Carrie Aarons

Publication Date: March 14, 2019

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS

Fleeting is my definition of an EPIC small town romance. I love all the characters and how relatable they are. This book follows Preston Nash, the oldest Nash brother and the small town of Fawn Hill’s only veterinarian and his romantic love interest Presley McDaniel, who’s come to help out her ailing grandmother at the town’s Book Shop / Post Office.

I enjoyed reading about their initial encounter, it was quite a memorable way to meet. ☺️Preston has been out of the dating game a long time after being heartbroken and he feels the need to be everything to everyone; like he carries the burden to ensure all is done. But when he meets Presley, she lightens him up with her carefree nature which helps him to see that he wants so much more out of life. It’s the perfect example of opposites attract.

“I’d trapped myself in this role of servant instead of the one of volunteer. I’d offered to help so much that my friends and family just expected it of me now … they were abusing my kindness and caring.

And now that I had a woman in my life who was quickly becoming more than all of that … I didn’t want to get out of bed to serve the community who had been using me for a while now.”

Preston comes across as a good-two shoes and Presley is initially unsure about getting into a relationship with him. She reluctantly agrees to a date with him that eventually evolves into more. But the question is will it last despite their differences in personalities.

“Like everything else in my life, maybe my romance with Keaton was fleeting. All the things that happened to me only lasted for a very short time. I glimpsed happiness or success, and then it was gone. A wisp of a dream, a shooting star gone too soon.”

I highly recommend reading this sweet small town romance. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series. Fleeting by Carrie Aarons will join the ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
